Every once in a while we will come across a video that appears to be a realistic view of what seems to be totally
UNrealistic times.
In Rhea County, poverty is at an all time high and there seems to be no viable relief on the horizon. In the midst of
YOUR hard financial times what do YOUR elected "leaders" do to ease YOUR burdens?
They have YOU bend over even more so they can shove the old tax rod in just a little deeper, that's what they do.
Also, they vote to give themselves a salary...they vote to give city employees only a 50 cent raise while raising the
fire chiefs salary to a whopping $49,000 a year...they buy new fire trucks when the old ones are perfectly fine and
hardly ever get driven...they tell you that they need more money 'for the children' yet are too stupid or uncaring to
send a police officer with blue lights to protect the busiest school intersection at Dayton City, instead they send a
DOG CATCHER to do the job!!! Unbelievable...
I could go on and on but why?
I am under the strong impression that some of you do not care. Some of you care but don't really give a damn.
Some of you are too engrossed in just trying to make a living that you ignore things happening directly under your
nose. Some of you care but throw your hands up in the air and say "what's the use". Once again, I could go on
and on but why?
The lack of people caring about what happens in and around their homes, their communities, reminds me of those
words said to have been written by Pastor Martin Niemoller: "When the Nazis came for the communists, I
did not speak out because I was not a communist. When they came for the trade unionists, I did not
speak out because I was not a trade unionist. When they came for the Catholics, I did not speak out
because I was a not a Catholic. When they came for the Jews, I did not speak out because I was a not a
Jew. Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me."
What is it that makes grown men and women so easily led around like little sheep that haven't a clue as where they
are being led? Are people in Rhea County so dumbed down that a sneaky politician can offer them a glass of sand
and convince them to drink it thinking it is water? Are YOU smart enough to know the difference between sand
and water?
If not, then apparently such people cannot separate B.S. from reality either.
By the way, I am not trying to offend anyone. But, I often get comments posted on other message boards,
websites, emails, etc., attacking RheaCountyNewspaper.com and our contributors for publishing lies, and so
forth. I find most of those comments amusing because; 1) they make such comments cloaked in hiding, 2) they
scorn what we do as lies yet somehow evade supporting their positions for calling us all a bunch of liars, 3) they
are the very few who are feeling the pinch of being exposed and it scares them.
Exposing truth about people, especially public officials who otherwise desire to blow smoke up your wa zoo is
risky business. I know this personally. Then again, I never planned on getting out of life alive either. So F#@# 'em.
For example, if I were say Special Police Chief Chris Sneed is "learning impaired", I say it with no animosity, but
with his 1.9628 Grade Point Average. As dumb as he may or may not be, he certainly must know that if he
projects himself into a public position then he projects his entire privacy into it as well. He should be glad we are
not making MORE public records requests. Then again, we plan on requesting his famous "Red Light Study"
which should prove hilarious IF it even exists. However, since he told the council that he and his Uncle Frankie
conducted the study then there should be no trouble in obtaining a public record request of it. Perhaps we will
write an article about "public records requests" and what legal "things" that happen when public records are denied
to the public. More on that later...
If I say that Special Chief Sneed hires police officers who are high school dropouts, it isn't out of my jealousy. It is
from knowing for fact that he hires high school drop outs, period. Special Chief Sneed is totally free to step up
and make a comment. There is no need to act all tough then when the tough gets going even his shadow is scared
away. How silly and insecure he must feel...
If I were to say that Mayor Bob Vincent was a liar, I would do so with facts, period. I would do it with audio
recordings, public records and many other things. Someone needs to ask old man Emens why he bailed out of the
newspaper business. Ask him. Naturally, he will more than likely shoot you a line of B.S. just as the Herald-News
has done for many years under his "helm". Ask him and watch his facial expression.
But now my friends, light is slowly penetrating through the black clouds that perpetually hover over Rhea County.
This alternative online newspaper is a great eye opener for many, but a scary scampering for those select few. Just
as bugs scatter when the light is flipped on those same character traits can apply to those select few as well. Once
again, I say these things not out of meanness, but out of a sad reality.
Remember folks, if none of the stuff published on this web site was true then all that needs to be done by special
chief, the mayor, Billy Ray, Jim Bob, Billy Bob, Sue Ellen, Billy Mac, Joe Blo, Limp Noodle or anyone else for
that matter, is simply request or demand a retraction. It's really rather simple. No need for name calling and crying
around blowing snot bubbles because they can't handle the pressure of exposure. They can always take Emens'
lead and simply resign, retire or whatever they deem to call it in slithering away from public scrutiny.
If these so called "men" would stop hiding and stop being all nervous and simply stand up like a man and ask for a
retraction then they shall receive it. Maybe.
Then again, we here at RCN are fully aware of Tennessee laws pertaining to newspaper publishing and related
mediae, not to mention the First Amendment. I know the constitution doesn't mean squat in Rhea County even
though every public official there swore an oath to it, but nonetheless, the constitution is there and in full force. So
in that regard, more than likely we would discuss the retraction and absent any proof to the contrary of our
publishing we in all likelihood would simply tell them to SUE US. I mean, hell, we would love to have discovery
and subpoena power so we could perform depositions of them under oath, force productions of documents, see
all their financial records, in fact, see anything we desire to see.
You know, looking at things in that regard makes me realize why they just puff up and get mad, resign (calling it
retirement, whatever) trash talking and all that other crap instead of demanding retractions. It is hard to stand and
face down the truth. That is exactly why folks in select positions get mad and feel threatened. They simply cannot
face the truth because they can't stand the accountability it would bring on them. To do so would be catastrophic
to them, their empire building and perhaps even their very freedom. Who knows, right?
Here's a question I should place in the Wizard section..."How does George W. Bush make himself look smart?"
To me folks, the answer is a no brainer. George Bush makes himself look smart by surrounding himself with
people dumber than himself. Sort of like that old saying, "In the land of the blind the one eyed man is king". Now
applying that same analogy to Special Chief Sneed, we can now see a valid reason for him to hire HIGH
SCHOOL DROP OUTS to be police officers. Makes perfect sense doesn't it? Totally unbelievable!
Now just where is the Dayton mayor during all of this?
Okay, enough rambling on this. I didn't mean to write a story about these dudes. I just wanted in introduce a video
that was sent to me, whereas I wanted to pass such video along to you guys to watch if you wanted to. Hey, that
reminds me. We have a rather nice video of what appears to be a classic CIVIL RIGHTS INTIMIDATION.
We will see to it that it gets published in a day or two. Amazingly, the offense of "civil rights intimidation" is one of
those laws one never seems to hear much about in Rhea County. It's like public officials pull these things from their
(_*_) just for certain people. For instance, when June Griffin tore that Mexican flag down from inside a mexican
grocery store was the only time I had ever heard of such a criminal charge such as that in Rhea County. Perhaps
those "select few" wanted to place an extra nail once again into the coffin of a certain person hoping that they go
away. I think I could go out on a limb and say with confidence that it wouldn't be the first time power was abused
in Rhea County.
Then again, one of our senior contributors (Roy Denton) offered $100 for any person willing to step up and show
the actual law (not those judges legislating from the bench crap either) but the actual law passed by the legislature,
signed by the governor allowing for a criminal offense of "DUI BY CONSENT/ALLOWANCE". Now let's not
get this confused with aiding and abetting offenses either. As predicted (we are batting 100% on our predictions
BTW) the $100 bill is still awaiting to be awarded.
In any event, this video contains a strong message that is hard to refute. As you watch the video try replacing
some of the words like "federal reserve", J.P. Morgan, etc. with more familiar names localized where YOU live in
Rhea County. I bet it would be safe to say that virtually every town, city and county has the very same problems.
No wonder things have gotten so bad for YOU, not THEM... But for YOU.
Watch the video, get fired up and keep reading. Also, keep sending in anything you like for us to consider.
because as you probably already know, we simply do not sit around making this crap up...it is the sad, hard to
swallow truth which by the way just happens to be the entertainment to the rest of us.
